Earlier this week I was invited to the trendiest spot in Cape Town, The Silo District to try out the new Glasshouse Rejuvenation Grooming Emporium and Day Spa. Known for being a male grooming salon for over 11 years, the Glasshouse has evolved into an exclusive unisex salon at the Waterfront’s new Silo district and if you are looking to get spoilt in style - this is the place for you!
I'm always very hesitant to get a facial (no matter which salon it is) because of all my skin issues but I've actually realized that facials are a great way to give your skin that extra boost and since I'm getting older - anything with the word collagen has my attention which I why I choose the Collagen Facial with Sothys Products.
Here's a breakdown of the Collagen Facial (it's 75 minutes and includes an amazing neck and shoulder massage:
-Cleanse Skin with vitality cleanser and toner. I have combination skin so we used a cleanser with grapefruit extract as the main ingredient.
- Exfoliate Skin with mineral microdermabrashion (volcanic rock) with 0.2% salicylic acid.
-Facial massage with collagene Hyaluronic Replenish Serum applied to fine lines and wrinkles.
-Elasticity Revealer - specific firming movements performed to reinforce the architecture of the skin.
-Neck and shoulder massage
-Collagen lifting mask (this was my favourite!) The mask is put together with almond biofibers, carob seeds and genipa fruit extract and regenerates and reinforces the dermis structure.
-Lastly she applied serum and moisturizer.
My skin was super soft after the treatment and I had two of three small little bumps that appeared about two days after (which is normal after a facial) but overall I absolutely loved my facial and my therapist Melissa was just amazing!
